still not feeling better !!!

Hi guys, just to let you know that I did finish my prendisone treatment on Sunday, and still haven't heard about the UTI check , so gathered it must still be ok.....

My question is, how long does it take to feel better.?   I am still feeling horrible, and so very tired, and I thought, or was under the impression that this treatment would help with that.  Also, I have these weird feelings and almost like I am spinning, not really dizzy, but sitting in the chair, and close my eyes, and then it just starts.

I was on 1250 mg. per day for 3 days, and was not tapered off, is this maybe what is happening to me now?

I'm just trying to figure it out, just wanted to feel better.

thanks guys,
Candy

Thanks Mary , I agree with what you are saying.  Thanks for caring, I did try and cdall today, but it was always busy.  So,, will try again.......

I am still feeling really weird, I'm wondering if the steroids take a long time to get to work... and if so, is that what I am feeling.  I am preparing for a lnasty test on Friday tomorrow, so, will not be calling anyone tomorrow.

I am having the colonoscopy and gastrolsopy on Friday, and have to prepare all day tomorrow,m drinking all that horrible stuff.   Then have internal ultrasounds done on Monday, so, I will not be doing much till nex tweek some time.

But, I wanted to let you know that I care about your feelings, and thank you for them, and will follow up soon as I can ..

Thanks again, Mary,
*HUGS*

So sorry Candy.  We were all hoping for a better result in a shorter time frame.  Especially you, eh?

I agree to call and report these new symptoms.  The Prednisone can cause some changes in blood pressure, blood sugar levels, hydration and electrolytes.  That could be causing some of what you are feeling.  Someone needs to see you to know.

Three days of high dose steroid treatment without a taper is usually OK for someone who hasn't had a lot of steroid treatment in the past.  Everyone is different though so check it out.

As far as the UTI testing goes, I am a firm believer in the principle that
          NO NEWS=NO NEWS
It does not mean the testing was normal.
It does not mean a test was ever done.
It does not mean the doctor ever received a written report with results.
It does not mean the office realizes they do or don't have results on a test.
It does not mean the office realizes you are waiting for them to call you.
It does not mean you have to keep wondering and waiting and assuming.

NO NEWS isn't always good news.
NO NEWS isn't necessarily bad news.
NO NEWS is simply NO INFORMATION.

Call them Candy.  If they don't have results and you still have symptoms >>>>
Tell them you want a repeat test to confirm.  Or perhaps some other plausible explanation for your symptoms!  They need to at least review your meds and consider multiple possibilities.

I know you just want to sleep it out honey but you have to be a pest sometimes to get what you need.  Even a sleepy mosquito will stay awake to buzz my ear until he gets what he needs.  (sorry - stupid example)

The point is we got to do what we got to do for ourselves.  Seldom will anyone care more about us than we care about ourselves.

Don't give up on that desire to feel better girl.

Hi Candy,

I wish it was working already :(
Truthfully, I think sometimes it doesn't work instantly for some. Though it could shorten the course of the attack too. Is anything worse than before the treatment?

I'm sure I'm of no consolation, but if it even keeps it from getting worse, it will have been worth it.

Hope better days are ahead lady :)

Sorry you are feeling bad. The steroids play heck on me for a while after I stop them so maybe that is what is causing your dizziness, but you should call your doctor just to make sure.

Paula
