evoked potentials

Had evoked potentials today on eyes, ears, hands and feet. Would not give me results, but said there is a difference in my eyes, probably because of optic neuritis in the past. Is that abnormal? Thumbs and bug toes moved, does that mean those nerves are ok?

Thanks. I had retrabulbar neuritis 14 years ago. I live in the UK and have had these tests today. MRI of brain and spine with and without contrast 21st April and have been told I will get the results by my neurologist in the follow up appt which will be June. Such a long time to wait, but that's the way it is.

I've not had potentials before, but I'd say try to sit tight until you have the results and a professional to go over them with you. I know; far easier said than done! But I've been there before assuming things and worrying and filling in blanks that did nothing but prematurely grey my hair. Do you have an appointment coming up soon with your neurologist?

For what it's worth, if you have had optic neuritis, a difference in the eyes wouldn't be a surprise. I was told to wait a year before determining my new baseline after I had it. You can fully or partially recover for quite some time after a bout of ON, and if there's residual damage, it would likely show up.
