How long have you skipped taking your DMD?

I'm still stranded in Banff in the Rockies.  Overnight trip turned into 4 nights and counting.  Highway is washed out.  I brought two syringes of Copaxone, dropped and contaminated one, took the other on Weds and nothing since.  Can't get any here.  Hoping I'll be home tomorrow ( to my flooded city) so miss only 4 days.  Has anyone skipped that long and run into any major problems?

Hope you are now safe and sound and dry at home - wherever that is. What an "adventure"!

My neurologist has given me the ok two different times to miss Avonex for 2 weeks  in a row while on vacation.  It was fine.  And so nice to avoid the needles for a few weeks!

So you really should be fine--  Good luck!  The meds do remain in your system for quite a while.

So sorry to hear of your diastrous trip and all the damage done to such as a beautiful area ! The poor town without power indefinitely is such a tragedy! My thoughts go out to you and your in-laws as well as to the folks who live in Banff!

I hope your journey home is safe and enjoyable!

As for your Copaxone, I did some research last night and what I found  is similar to  Lu's  2  month washout. It noted 6 weeks but either way you should be fine!

Thinking of you,

Thanks All. Lu that's reassuring about how long it takes to leave your system.

One of the alternate routes opened up tonight so we hope to be gone by early tomorrow morning.  On top of it all, the entire town of Banff is now without power indefinitely due to an explosion at the power plant.  Quite the exciting vacation my poor in-laws are having!  That said, this is a beautiful place to have to be stranded. :)

If it helps to know, when I made the switch to Tysabri from Copaxone, there was a two month washout period I had to wait for all of the copaxone to leave my system.  You should be fine without it - you might have a bit more stinging when you resume your routine.  Good luck with getting home.

yikes! poor you! I giggled at your name though... that's how I feel. What I read about your drug is that missing a dose is ok and never double up what you've missed. Sadly, you are in a tight spot so to speak with being stranded and all! The drug itself is designed to help repair etc and what I've read from other users of that drug is that they suffered no ill effects from missing a dose or two. Best of luck...!!

Can't help you with your question... But thinking of you while you are stranded. I have been following the flood news as I have a SIL in Calgary.
Hope you are staying dry. :/
