Thank you ---
Hi Ren! It's nice to "meet" those I haven't yet. :)
@Pam --- we do sound alike. I'm not opposed to treating my symptoms but I refuse to treat my symptoms if it's for the wrong thing. I'm not having seizures so why give that to me? I am probably going to request medication for my muscle spasms now... they are becoming painful and I'm gettting facial pain that is biting me more often than I'd like. (I know it could be TN --- it's in the appropriate place but it's not excruciating yet. It just feels like someone is stabbing me with a fine needle and it goes away.)
@Suman --- I won't let them convince me that a square peg fits in a round hole. I'm pretty stubborn. ;)
I guess, at this point, I belong here. I'm not sure where else I would 'belong' since my tests are showing something is up but my MRI at this point is clean.
Hi I don't think we officially met yet, so welcome to the forum. It is hard to find the type of doctor you are seeking.
It took me 5 neuros to find the one that fits "I just want to find a doctor that will walk with me... when I get sick, I want to know that someone wants to see me and I won't get prescribed something "just because" and sent on my way without having any idea "what is wrong?" I want to find out what is wrong."
Have patience and move on until you find the doctor that is the right fit for you.
Hang in there,
Ren
I believe there comes a time with this disease where we want an answer. Just be sure it fits with the symptoms. I was stupid enough to have a neuro convince me that it was a pinched nerve in my neck. Mind you, I was already using a wheelchair for any distance. I was so shocked by the dx, I asked over and over, "Are you positive it can cause these kind of symptoms?" His answer was yes. My husband and I were speechless that a pinched nerve could cause so many problems but this was a neuro...and wouldn't he know?
Moral of the story. If it doesn't make sense, keep on keeping on and don't stop. Too much damage can be done to your body listening to the educated neuro.
Saying a prayer this new guy is the one for you! Wishing answers for you and SOON!
We sound alike, and so do our general pysicians.... I was prescribed Klonopin for my hand tremor, but i did not want to take it because my neuro. likes to prescribe medicine rather than figure out the cause. My family doc. told me not to take any more medication, she said , " My God, You are tired enough, and you do not need anymore medicine at this point", I was relieved she said that.
Hope you find the right neuro!!!! Good luck,
Pam
