I'm kinda irritated about it, actually. It looks like I can't lose weight unless I'm running. Which means that when I have another flare, wham, the pounds come back on.
I've got to figure out the foot thing. And the bladder thing. Maybe it's just a stamina problem - as I get in better condition, I'll be safer on the treadmill. Who knows... I'm just going to keep plugging away until I flare up again.
I'm impressed! And, jealous I might add. I admire your determination and the fact you still have the ability to run. Please be careful, especially with the foot issue.

Wow, that's great. I understand the frustration. I used to walk like a machine, able to easily do four miles in about 40 minutes or so. Now...it takes me an hour to do three, and it's incredibly hard and uncomfortable. But if I don't do something, I'll start seeing that upward creep, and I'm determined not to let that happen. So good for you at sticking with it and coming up with ways to manage it.

That's not a bad idea. I don't think it's quite foot drop yet, but I certainly have to *think* about lifting my foot up. They make a foot brace that would hold my foot up, but it's plastic and clunky.
I don't think I would have started running again if it wasn't for the weight. I get so frustrated, because I'm really trying to restrict my calories, and it doesn't do a bit of good. Working out on the trainer was exercise, but it just wasn't enough. I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem.
Pretty impressive that you are running...Good for you!
And hooking up the auto shut off....Very Good Idea (Lol)
Perhaps wearing the pads only while running won't be to terribly bad.
But I did get a bit of a chuckle when you stated that you would have run longer if you had not have "Sprung a Leak". Your attitude is good and that says a lot about you as a person. Heck, i'm still impressed (ok jelous) that you are able to run even w/ your bad foot and being a leak springer..
I wonder, would wrapping your foot in an ace bandage or one of those foot braces that athletes use that you can buy located w/ the ace bandage section ,,,,,,could help stop a bit of the stubbing because of keeping it more confined? Just thinking out loud.
Sorry if it sounds silly.....
