Insurance companies think they know best

My  insurance company is refusing to pay for cognitive function tests which I was supposed to go to tomorrow this would have been year 4 for the eval and though I really didnt want to know how much worse I got this year but thought the results might help with ssdi since its one of my main reasons for not being able to work since I am still in limboland they said they would pay for it if i have suffered a concussion within this years time so I havent had that.I will call my primary today and let her know maybe she could call them and see what is going on. I now have to wait for a hearing for disbility and may take up to a year the system needs fixing those who work get **** and those who dont get it all.

sorry just upset at the system

I agree with Shell and Alex--
Seems like one of those things that would be on the table for a reversal if your docs will go to bat for you.

And as for the system as a whole.... I share your frustration!

Best,

I worked in insurance. Most things can be reversed. They just hope you will not fight it. Have your Doctor contest it. It may take several times. I was told to deny things that came across my desk three times just out of principle. Keep the faith and try not to take it personally. You can get mad it is just the system.

The dumb part is in my humble opinion more time which equals money and money is wasted in disallowing claims than allowing them in the first place.

Kat,

Will the office fight it? What a load of cra p. The baseline is established, and they absolutely will need the eval results 4 years out for SSDI.

I'm upset for you!
You don't need a concussion for cognitive decline. Your doctor can get this thru for you. Just hold them to the fire. UUUgh, your right, they do think they can manage your care. And, only your doctor can do that. Not the insurance company docs.
