Is it Asthma, IBS or MS hug?

I was diagnosed with RRMS in 1998 and been a fair selection of the various MS symtoms, MS the disease that keeps giving. Since I discovered yoga I have been given a tool to help me cope and even improve my condition. I have lived with Hayfever all my life and so after m wheezing concerned my friend I was given an asthma diagnosis. Impossible - I do YOGA!  but apparently completely possible and yoga is the reason I had been able to cope to now.
It always hurt when I coughed and with Asthma I coughed more often.... even with the inhaler pumps.
I have had a problem with my bladder and bowel for eons, and a test confirmed that one of the two bands to do with the bowel control was completely not functioning. Yet I had still had some control... apparently I had developed other muscles to compsensate... again thanks yoga.
Now about my matter of confusion. I researching MS hug because I was going to do some fundraising on the theme of Hugging (I always like to take something positive when possible) Alot of the symptoms of MS hug seemed to be the same as i live with... I sigh alot, tightness in my abdomen and because of yoga and my skill of taking my beath deep,Until recently, practicing separating the breath..,, I could take and hold into my belly, but really struggled with the hold inthe upper lungs.
I don't want another label, but I just don't Know.... could it be I have been managing the MS Hug without realising it's name?

Thanks, I am a yoga practictioner who know the healing qualities of the breathe... it had to progress to a certain level before i became badly affected. Yes i absolutely believe in complimentary theraphies. Yoga, Accupuncture, Oestopath and of course a good masage every now again.

Thank you for you advice

Hi Karen,
We pretty much know the hug comes from the tightening and spasms of the ligaments and muscles in the rib cage area.  My acupunturist and I talked about breathing exercises (imagine expanding horizontally instead of vertically) to help strengthen and lengthen those ligaments.

I notice a difference when I breathe that way.  I would image that yoga does the same thing.  The control and the ability to relax when breathing should both be beneficial.

be well and keep smiling,
Lulu
