Thank you for the useful information. I appreciate your answer:)
The L'hermittes' actually cause an electric shock sensation but it radiates 'down' the spine, often into the legs, arms, and sometimes to the trunk, because your saying the sensation is going up (face) and down (arms) with neck turned to the side and when you move your eyes, it genuinely sounds too inconsistent for it to L'hermittes.
Just a thought but It might have something to do with the trapezius muscle, i've heard of having trapezius issues can cause jaw, face, arm tingling etc when you turn your head sideways...

Thank you supermum and your comment is appreciated. But Iam not feeling of these sensation in the spine or back..just face and arms. I dont know if it may be L'hermitte's sign even no sensation in the in my back or spine.
Hi there,
Um i've never heard of anything that could cause an electric shock sensation in "face and arms" with only eye movement....its an odd thing to happen, your arms are not connected in any way to your eyeballs, moving your eyeballs shouldn't be able to cause an electric shock sensation in your arms.
L'Hermitte's is typically triggered by lowering the head forward, chin to chest but other head movements in general, though not as common, can also cause the shock sensation. The eye movement is a bit confusing to me, i'd suspect it might have something to do with nerve compression though to me it's not really consistent enough to be specifically the L'hermitte's sign....
Keep in mind that even if it was L'hermitte's, it's not unique to MS because there are other more common conditions that cause it too eg arthritis, cervical spondylosis, disc compression, pernicious anaemia, degenerative disc, cervical over curvature etc in MS the L'hermitte's sign is caused by spinal cord lesions.
Hope that helps.........JJ
