Thank you to all of you! I will take LOTS OF PICTURES for sure! You see, I used to drink pretty heavily and especially when I went to Newfoundland! One time I went there I LOST 23 pounds because eating got in the way of a good drink! But I beat that problem and now I will be sober enough to remember more AND get some great pics! Sorry Mike, I have kissed the cod and drank the screech and the whole thing many times and while I really like screech...my meds won't let me drink anymore. But it will still be a blast!
I have a lot of people that are telling me that I should take full advantage of what is available to make my trip easier and trust me, I will. I didn't say, when I booked my ticket, that I had any special needs but I will go back and change that I guess.
I am flying into Halifax and have a 2 hour layover so that will give me a chance to stretch my legs and clear the cobwebs out of my head and get to my gate so I am not too worried about that. I have been to Halifax before and it's not like Toronto or Montreal where you have to have a map just to figure out where the moving sidewalks are gonna take you!
I booked my hotel today and now it's real! I agree DJ and my Mom says I have already been and come back at least 100 times in my mind and I need to slow down! I know what it can do to me but it sure feels good while it lasts...things like this are few and far between in my life and I have to enjoy it a little. I will try to do something tomorrow that will take my mind off of it and then I will be ok...I hope!
What an adventure! I hope I feel as brave on August 18th as I do now!!! :)
Lots of Hugs,
Rena
Oh man, what FUN!
I've always wanted to go to Newfoundland!
I'm so pleased for you and your friend!
Remember, not too much screetch (sp)
Mike
hi rena yes they will help you with a wheelchair through the airport. and you can preboard. i walked the last time through the airport and it tired me out.
Have a great time.
WOW.. this sounds like it will be so much fun. I'm happy for you and make sure you make arrangement with the airlines etc...for any help you may need.

Sounds like the best fun ever. Listen to Lulu, take every advantage you can while you are on this trip.
My mom yelled at me for not accepting that I have a serious disease and THERE ARE people out there willing to do special things for you. Heck people that don't deserve it take advantage of it all the time.
At my step daughter's graduation I got special parking, (even though my darn plaquard isn't here yet) a special entrance, and even could have had special seating all just because I had a cane.
Let the airport people wheel you around with your feet up while you dream of big hugs from your best friend :) Just do everything to make the parts that you can as easy as possible.
Have the best time ever

Hi Rena, this all sounds great. Be sure to find out about the extra services the airlines can offer to help make this trip go without a hitch. Transportation to and from the gates is important. Maybe priority boarding and bulkhead seating to have room to stretch your legs?
Does anyone else have some travel tips to make this trip perfect?
hugs, Lu
Hi Rena
Yeh...I have just worked out what OT means (Off topic!) and confess that it has taken me some time having been used to using this acronym for Occupational Therapy. I am slowly picking up the lingo on this forum!
Anyhow just wanted to say I am so happy for you that you have such an exciting trip to look forward to and I am sure that with a positive outlook you will find the travelling fine..just remember to ask for help if you need it.
Love Sarah
How wonderful for you and your friend. I am so happy for both of you. Try not to stress, happy stress can be just has bad as bad stress.. In other words, try not to worry about what Might Happen, chances are you are going to do just fine.
I will be praying for you..
Have a Great Trip and tell us all about it when you get home..
Sending you special hugs on the winds {{{{{{~!~}}}}}} filled with my love and best wishes for all of you..... DJ
