Jinx!

I think I jinxed myself. I have been talking about how I am newly diagnosed and thankfully don't have a lot of severe symptoms yet, but I think I jinxed myself because the past 2 days I have had problems with my legs (mainly in my upper leg and hips) and have had a really hard tie walking.

I am supposed to start steroids soon and hopefully that will help. Walking is kind of important when you have to go to work.

I had to drop off some paperwork at the neuro's office this morning and I asked about it. I am schedule for tomorrow morning and I can't wait! I am sooo achy, stiff, and spasmy! (Is that a word?) Is that silly that I am excited about steroids? I am a little worried about side effects, but I'll take 'em! I have things to do!

I hope you can get SoluMedrol treatment real soon!   I am sorry you are now having leg issues.  That is one of the scary symptoms, if you ask me.  I know it sure was for me when mine first started.

The things that come to my head as far as side effects are:
Extreme hunger
Tired at first
Headache

But, like Lulu, it was almost instant relief.  Good luck, Oji!

Hugs,
Addi

It's amazing how that stuff sneaks up on you.  One day I feel fine and can walk without trouble, the next day I can't get up without wobbling.

I had iv solumedrol/pills combo last summer and it was not bad for me.  It helped to give almost immediate relief to my symptoms.  I hope it does the same for you.

That work thing sure does change our priorities in the morning, right?  No lounging around waitng for the legs to work for either of us.....  call that neuro and get them on the ball with treting you now.

hugs, L

Thanks for the tips. The only thing I have been worried about are the steroids making my more hyper than I already am. :) I am looking forward to not walking like an 80 year old! I have had some pain issues the past few weeks but they have been mostly at night. I thought I would have started treatments by now, so I a going to call my neuro's office today and see what's up.

Just remember to drink lots of water before, during and after steroids.  Be prepared for heartburn.  I find drinking diet 7up helps tremendously.  Sleep is usually a problem for me but meds help it.  Maybe talk to your neuro before if you are working.  I think most of us hate taking them but it will offer relief.  For me the swelling goes down which brings my pain level down.

I remember too well my first few steroid treatments and not knowing what to expect.  I hope others will chime in and help prepare you.
