Knots anyone? Also, summer heat??

Hi there!  I sure have missed reading posts and posting.  Have a quiestion....do any of you have large knots near your joints or down your leg?  I have muscle knots (due to the Fibro) but these don't feel like muscle knots.  I have 2 large areas on the inside/side of my left knee.  My left leg always seems to give me trouble.  They have been there since late Feb. early March and sometimes they are really sore and sometimes not at all.  More like cysts really.  I also have several small ones on my lower back.

Also, the heat has already begun to take a toll on me, LOTS of parathesias happening that have been regulated until now.   Neurontin no longer cutting it.  Is there something else any of you take for parathesias and pain?  I know there was an earlier post about numbness as well.

Hope you all are fine!
Blessings

Thank you Bob!  What do you mean by cords below the knots.  Would this be something I could feel?  I am planning to call my rheumatologist tomorrow.  I don't know who else to call.  My PCP hasn't done a thing for me but tell me everything is in my head :(  I mentioned to my rheumatologist about trying Lyrica, but he said he wanted me to stick with neurontin and do my best to change my lifestyle.  Easier said than done and although I'm trying hard it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

I've never thought about a pain management specialist but that might be something for me to investigate further.  Thank you again.  I appreciate all your insight as always!

Blessings!

I get knots in the muscles related to the spasticity.  You really need to have your legs examined by a Health Care Professional to make sure you don't have cords below the knots.  They need to rule out Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVTs) just to be on the safe side.

When Neurontin doesn't work any longer, they can add Cybalta or switch you over to pregabalin.  There are a few different strategies. Talk with your doctor.  You can always request a referral to a pain management specialist.
