Latest from the VA and some questions?

Today I got a letter from the VA concerning my application for disability. It kind of had me a little confused as it only concerned my hearing problems and not any of the other things I had applied for disability for. Next week I will go up there to see if I can find out why they only did the hearing in this letter.

The end result is that they gave me "service connection" for my hearing loss at 0%. This means that I can get free treatment for it, but no monetary compensation. I am thinking of appealing the amount of disability as with my MS and PTSD not hearing thing good has more of an impact on me than someone in good health. To back this up I have the repost from my Neuro Psych testing which shows I have trouble with things in distracting surroundings.

I'm not sure if anyone on here has any background to decipher the hearing test results or not. But it sure would be nice if someone did.

Left ear:
100% speech discrimination.
25db loss @ 1000hz
40db loss @ 2000hx
50bd loss @ 3000hz
60db loss @ 4000hz
43.8db avg loss

Right ear:
98% speech discrimination
25db loss @ 1000hz
35db loss @ 2000hz
50db loss @ 3000hz
55db loss @ 4000hz
41.3db Avg loss

I do know that every 3db loss cuts your hearing in half. But I don't know what these frequencies relate to in real life. What is the frequency of speech for instance?
When they tested my speech discrimination it was under non-distractive conditions. I also don't remember them testing that part with my left ear which kind of surprised me at the time.

One other thing was at the end of the report they had this sentence;

PLEASE NOTE: This is considered a FULL GRANT of this issue on appeal.

Probably know one knows what that means but I thought I would ask.

Dennis

DEnnis, this is so outside of my range I can't begin to even fake and answer.  :-)    I could take some guesses, but they certainly wouldn't be educated guesses.

I did a quick google and come up with

"If a decision is considered a full grant of an issue under appeal, a rating will be prepared with a codesheet, and the SSOC will address only the issues still continued on appeal."

Google "full grant of this issue on appeal,": and you will find several links to VA articles.

good luck,
Lul
