MRI Impression

I posted a few days ago & said I would keep you updated.

No lesion which is great. Dr called said my lumbar spine is a hot mess.

MRI impression:

1. Broad-based. Enteral protrusion type disc herniation L5 S1 contacts

The bilateral S1 nerve roots. Correlate for S1 radicolopathy.

Moderate to severe stenosis.

2. Far lateral right-sided protrusion type disc herniation L4 -5 contacts the extraforminal right L4 nerve root.

This finding was not reported on the prior report.

3. Moderate to severe central and forminal narrowing elsewhere as described.

Dr wants me to go to pain management & PT, I will be making those apps tomorrow.

Thanks again as always for the advice. Linda

Correlate for S1 radicolopathy.

Ouch that sounds nasty!

I can certainly see where your symptoms have come from. It is good you are going to have PT & pain management. It's often the first line of treatment.

Take care,
Karry.

Yeah that sounds painful alright. Pain mgmnt should make a big difference in the short term and the PT won't be easy but should help a lot longer term. Is your doc confident you won't need anything more invasive?
