MS House of Rep. Resolution

I just found out about a House of Representatives Resolution  H. Con. Res 14.   Please call your Congress person and ask him/her to co-sponsor it.  It calls for a MS Awareness Week to highlight the impact of MS on the person and family and calls for a week in March to be set aside to raise MS awareness.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee has sponsored it and it needs co-sponsors.  Lee is a member of the MS Caucus and even went and spoke to Michelle Obama about MS awareness and this Resolution.  No firm committment from the First Lady, but at least if you call your Congressman or woman to co-sponsor this legislation, we can at least try and raise awareness.

By the way, this resolution states that there are at least  400,000 Americans diagnosed with MS.  At least that's more than the 300,000 the MS society claims.

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation celebrates every year in the month of March "The MS Education and Awareness Month".

If you ask, they will send you "Awareness Kits" that you can distribute in your home state.  These kits have valuable information that may help the public and even our families understand what MS is, how it strikes differently in each individual and even motivational information.

You can contact the MS Foundation at www.msfocus.org.

It will be good to contact your congress person due to the fact that not everyone is familiar with abovementioned activity.  Everyone should know about MS, just as we know about ALS, Asthma, MD, tec.
