MS Neuro Visit

Probably my best appointment to date with my MS Neuro at Vanderbilt today.  My walking has not deteriorated much in the last two years (slowed down slightly).  Put me on two new medicines to see if I will tolerate them. He also want to try an course of IV Steroids to see if that will help me due to my NEW numb (r) face and other new symptoms. Have to wait on that until I get tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis first as they steroids would mess that test up. The arthritis test is also why I have been off of my CellCept for a couple of months.

So no I have to try to get the VA to do the blood work for RA ASAP. I'm also not sure how well it will go over at the VA for the IV Steroids as I'm DX'ed as PPMS.  Wish me luck on these fronts!

Except it is the VA! :)

If the VA doesn't approve the IV I may consider seeing about it under Medicare if that option doesn't cost too much.

I know that people have talked about the IV stuff here many times, but I don't remember what the talk was about.

Would I face any problems with driving myself for the treatments?

Any other things I should know about?

Hi Dennis, it doesn't matter what type of MS you have been diagnosed with when it comes to IVSM - anyone who has inflammation that needs to be quieted can be prescribed Solumedrol.
I hope it quiets your recent new problems.
