Hi Cowboy,
Sarahsmom is right on about MS and B12. I too was found to have low B12, in July 07.
I took the shots for about a month, but it gave me internal and external tremors so I had to stop. Now I take the liquid, by mouth. Haven't had this checked again so I don't know what my levels are now.
I didn't see any change in my symptoms (except the addition of worsened tremors), so I don't know if the B12 problem caused any of them or not. Still looking for answers.
I hope that this is what is causing all your problems, how great would that be!?! Keep us informed about how this treatment is going.
Take care,
doni
It is good that they found your low B12 levels and are treating it. Thankfully, the B12 test is a routine part of a neurological blood work up as I had a low level too and have been getting the shots for 4 months now.
You might find that it takes a month or so before you notice a difference in your symptoms though. Oh, and one more thing...You can still have MS and low B12 level. Some research that I've read shows a connection between the two, not that B12 is cause by MS or visa versa, but that the two can coexist.
I am forwarding a couple of links that helped me when I was researching this. But all you need to do is goodle "B12 deficiency, symptoms" and/or "MS and B12" and you will pull thousands of references. Hope this was helpful.
