I would call the feeling "tightening up" kind of. And they only feel that way when they start to be uncooperative, not all the time. Amy
Thanks for the reply Amy. Do your legs feel "hard"? Mine feel like I imagine a runners do. Very hard, not flabby at all. Which is strange to me, as I'm overweight, and hard as I try to exercise, I don't. I just don't have the energy. I did Yoga recently for a week, then hurt so bad haven't done it since. But my body is not flabby at all. I have several overweight friends, and they even look "soft". No one believes I weight as much as I do, because I am so solid. Maybe a good side effect? Except it feels like I'm stretching my skin all the time.....I make about one trip around a Nall, and my legs are done. I have sat down in the funniest places! Thanks & gentle hugs.Maggie
Hi. Not that this post was to me, but just wanted to tell you that my biggest issue is leg pain. And sometimes they go south on me in that they just won't work. Went to Costco Sat. with my 12 year old daughter and I was weaving and wobbling all over., just trying to put one foot in front of the other. Just wanted to tell you I can totally relate. I take Neurontin which is the "sister" drug to Lyrica, and also Darvocet but only minimal. I feel for you. Love, Amy
Thank you so much for the reply. A jelly-leg is exactly what it feels like. I spent 20 years on the Southern Oregon Coast, hence why I like Eastern Oregon semi-desert. But we have sure had enough snow rain and cold to last me a good long while!...and my pcp has said I can increase the Lyrica, in 50mg increments, may start that in am.............M
I'm so sorry you're hurting so much. I have had so little pain and I'm just not an expert on neuropathic pain either. I have had the quivering thigh. That, I think, is a muscle with a decreased signal going to it. It feels like you've been lifting weights and have "Jelly-legs." Going down is always harder than going up. The front thigh muscle (quads) have to work harder going down.
Since you were on Lyrica before, you may have developed some tolerance to it or are metabolizing it more rapidly now. Ask your doc if there is room to increase the dose.
I'm doing okay and I adore the rain. Comes from too many years in the desert and in places with severe drought.
I hope your doc can find some answers. Maybe he can add something else if you can't go up on the dose.
