New to forum- symptom questions

I have been seeing Dr. after Dr. for over a year now with symptoms getting worse. Started having hip pains about a year ago that quickly progressed to severe leg pain ( burning )  pain. MRI in Sept. 08 showed slight disk prot. on root nerve in lower back. Was told this must be the problem for all the pain. After months of physical therapy and 2 spinal injections with no relief and symptoms getting worse decided to see family friend ( doctor) who sent me for a complete blood work-up. Results were normal. However over the last three months pain is incredible. Numbness in right arm and hand, severe pain in hand joints, fingertips and feet. Pain in both feet sometimes so severe I have to remove shoes and go barefoot. My toe joints feel like they are on fire.Sometimes I also have this severe pain in my face usually from my left eye to the center of my cheek it only lasts for a day or two and then comes and goes. Prescribed Lortab,Lyrica and mobic. Nothing helps the pain just takes the edge of. However, quit taking Lyrica. Was only taking it to sleep at night.  I have been having trouble remember things such as the spelling of words and concentrating on what I am doing. It's getting really bad Can't remember even the easiest words. Extremely sore when I wake up in the mornings as if I have been run over by a truck! Only getting worse. I am scheduled to see a neurosurgeon on the 18th. At this point no Dr. has really even spent more than 10 minutes with me when I've had an appointment. I am in so much pain sometimes that I'm in tears it's exhausting. Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? I will 40 next month but feel 90.

Thank so much for your comment at least there are other people out there with me I was starting to think I was the only one. You know there are days that go by and I feel pretty good and then with no warning all the pain comes back. Whats really wierd it changes spots. It's always one leg and hip joint at a time and sometimes even one foot at a time. I was starting to think I was crazy.HAHA but then when the pain comes it's obvious there is a problem we just need to find! This time I have a massive amount of notes for the doctor surely there is still one out there who actually would like to help their patients

Hi Katiebugflies,
Welcome to the MS forum - there is lots of information here on our health pages about MS that might be of interest to you.  I'm not a doctor so what I say here is just based on hunches and what you have written.

Nothing you have written makes me chose  neurological over mechanical problems for what you are experiencing.  The numbness could be coming from the spine problems but you say these are minor problems......

Seeing a neurologist is probably a good idea if you can get your doctor to refer you to one.  If nothing else it could perhaps eliminate something neurological as the source of your problems.

I hope something of this makes sense - I'm sorry I can't be of more help right now.
I hope you will come through often and keep us informed of your progress.

Here's wishing you some answers to help with your pain.
