Stemming the Tide

Hi, folks.  The plan of using a med with self-cath'ing is not working.  My days are still made up of mopping floors and doing whole peeloads of laundry.  Everything hurts in the nether regions.  New UTI this week seems under control.

My newest problem is total spasm of my lower back bilaterally.  Using I just have the pulling from the right side, but this is 10 times worse.  I haven't been able to sit at the computer.  Flexeril is my new best friend.  I am not accustomed to pain.  It su cks.

My mood is barely hanging on.  All the new meds are playing hob with my head and things seem surreal and blunt.

I'll let the Uro-G know about this next week when she gets back and I think we may try the Botox injections into the bladder.

I can't think of anything to say next.

Hang in there.  The answers I have seen are great.  You all have such great sophistication now and are serving the new people so well.  I am very proud of all of you.  For all those who have messaged me with  questions - please ask those questions here on the forum.  You'll get good answers.

I'll be back later, I hope.

Anybody seen a little Dutch boy wondering around looking for a dam with a leak?  Send him my way, sordid as it seems.  I'll take him in lieu of a cork.  Hmmm, maybe Crazy Glue.

Quix  :((

ummm, at least you'll have a sexy, wrinkle-free bladder?

i got nuthin. pee pee problems are the pits.

if it makes you feel better to know you've made others crack a smile, the visual of a tiny dutch boy plugging the hole, so to speak, will keep me giggling for days. ; )

good luck with the therapy. let us know how it goes.

also, heard a great quote today- "life is a tragedy to those who feel and a comedy to those who think."  easy to SAY, i know..

Quix, my friend from practically the start of this Forum - I'm so sad to see you going through this.  It's about the only thing (dare I say it) that I haven't had so far.   When we first started posting here we were both  relatively new to MS and now we are old hands at the game. My mood has changed radically, but I just pray that you stay the same old you with the same sense of humor through the darker  days.   We need you here.

love
Marcie

Aw, Quix, I'm sorry for all of the bladder complications. That can screw quality of life faster than many things. I hope the botox does the trick.

I just wanted to chime in also  :)   I too offer my sympathetic thoughts to you for all you are going through. You are such a "Strong" person!  You certainly are missed ;)

As for the Botox....My aunt had that done and it seemed to have helped her somewhat. I have also used the Botox Injections but not for my bladder.....rather for my face  and it works (as Billy Crystal would say "Simply Mar- Ve-Lous!") for the top half any way......

You are certainly in thought and Prayer.

Quix,

I'm joining in the chorus of this whole thing s ucks.  What a horrible experience you are going through! I hope the Botox gives you some relief.

If I see a fairy godmother somewhere along the way, I'll send her with the Dutch boy, to wave her magic wand and send this all away.

I hope you find a solution and feel better soon!

Hugs!

Hi Q,
I am sorry that you are going through all this, but I can relate to the spasms and the wet floors in more ways than one!!!  Our water bed sprung a leak today!! Flooded the NEW CARPET!!, opps, oh well, as I said to the bed people if that's the biggest of my worries I guess they are still small.

Hubby is constructing the new bed as I type...lol, I can hear swearing coming from the bedroom, so I am not venturing down there, I think the instructions were in Chinese!

Keep us posted on the Botox, as you know this med was offered to me and I declined, I think I needed someone else to try it first!  Vesicare has helped me with both the incontinence/urgency and the spasms, but boy does it constipate you!!!  I think if you have success with the Botox I might go down that path.

I am so sorry that you feel like CRAP, it's not much fun when you have pain in that area, it drove me insane and made me depressed, I hope the Botox works and you have the sexiest whatsit going...lol

Hope you pick up soon,
Cheers,
Udkas.

Hey Quix

What a pain in the butt, you dont sound like your having any fun at all, my dear girl! If i come across a little Dutch boy, i send him express mail, he'll be a tad flattened but i'm sure still usable lol.

I was just doing some research on the benefits of botox, i'm trying to work out if it would be usefull with neuropathic pain too, my brother is in agony with his feet. If you go down that route, please if and when you can, let us know how it goes.

Cheers.......JJ

What can I say....I tried to imagine what I would feel like going through all this and I think that the water on the floor would become a flood with my tears! You must just be so fed up and I just hope that things improve for you as it feels soul destroying coping with it all. I pray that you find something that works, that helps to take away your pain and that you have friends/family around you who can support you.

With love Sarah :))))))
