New symptoms

Since January, my symptoms have been numbness and tingling on my hands, toes and nose. I had an MRI and it came back normal.(no sign of lesions or tumor). My neuro. did a bunch of blood work which came back normal. He suggested we watch it for a month. Since then the numbness is gone but the tingling is still there but not as bad sometimes we I get hot or cold it acts up. I have also had two dizzy spells that lasted a couple of seconds each. I told my Neuro, he didn't seem to worried. He is sending me for nerve conducting test.  Can anyone describe to me what their dizzy spells were like and how long they lasted and has anyone else's symptoms slowly decreased?

The muscle spasm you describe sounds like fasciculations.  I keep reading that these are not caused by MS but I have noticed I have gotten this a lot in the past few months, mainly on my upper right thigh and upper left arm.  Coincidence, perhaps.  I have not way of knowing if my MS is to blame.  It is a peristent twitching, no pain, but the movement is very visible.

I also have twitching of my right lower eyelid - I do have vision issues, ie: double vision and nystagmus, so my eyelid twitching might specifically be related to that.

Fasciculations can be attributed to other factors including magnesium deficiency and certain medications.  Mostly it is considered a benign symptom of unknown origin.

I have also had very brief dizziness like you describe and my neuro was not too concerned about these given the brief duration.  They usually happen when I get up very fast or turn suddenly.

Hi.. I have alot of the SX and Vertigo, my dizzy feeling is there alot of the time, which makes it difficult to walk at time.  But when I get a spell, it will knock me over if I'm standing... I have to hold on to something or I will fall.

The room moves back and forth, these spells are different for different people.  Mine can last from 5 min to 30 min...then I'm exhausted for a few days and off balance for another week.  I get them approx every month or so...I used to get them daily...Not fun.  I'm still not Dx..

take care

The muscle spasm is not at all painful, I didn't really notice it when i was busy. I think it was caused from carrying my daughter around for a long period of time. I did call my neuro. today to make another appointment to talk about the dizzy spells and the muscle thing. If he brushes it off I will be going for a second opinion.

That could very well be a muscle spasm that you are feeling. They can be quit painful at times. I think the spasms add to my weakness also. My muscles under the skin become very hard, almost like I'm flexing my muscles, but I'm not. Does that sound similar to what you are experiencing? I have also found that when my muscle spasms are acting up I do have a lot more twitching. I take Baclofen for the spasms..It helps sometimes.

Thank you for responding. I do not have any pain associated with the tingling. I think I have experienced muscle spasms. I could feel and see the muscle in my right bicep twitching. Is that a muscle spasm?

Hi!

I'm not DX either..I'm still working on that but I've had lots of problems with muscle spasms, numbness and tingling on my left side. At times when I've had these "episodes" sometimes they would gradually go away. If you have MS, cold and heat can bring on SX or make your existing SX worse.

I've not had too much experience with vertigo ( dizzy spells) except for a couple of times. It felt as though the room was spinning but I was still. I was walking around the corner and everything went side-ways. Do you have pain with the numbness and tingling? They do have medication that can help.
