Wow! That must be what is happening to me! Does anyone know if this is more common in MS than with the general population?
That's a good one! But this was a couple of months ago, or longer... It was a guy, and I think he had sleep apnea as well as MS.
There's another poster that was having a problem with something similar - he was having these episodes where he felt paralyzed, and was unable to move. It usually happened around bedtime... or maybe it was when he woke up in the morning.
Unfortunately I don't remember his name, but maybe somebody else will!
Has happened at night as well as when I went to take a nap yesterday. Been falling asleep my whole life (lol) and have NEVER experienced anything like this before. My brain was completely awake and I wanted to move or scream out, but was paralyzed.
I have gone through similar situation, but is while I am almost asleep. I can’t move but I am awake, also that I can’t move also hear some noises. I don’t know how much it last but for me is forever. Then I wake up screaming and am difficult to breathing at the end I get up scramming.
Is it only happening at night? It reminds me of the state several people here have described. I forget the exact name but it's a sleep state. There are stages in sleep where your body is paralyzed for a brief time. I'm not sure I remember anyone mentioning their vision and hearing be absent during such an episode. Maybe someone who has actually had this will respond soon.

You need to go to an ER or Urgent Care Facility NOW! I am not a doctor, but there are a number of things that may be happening.
This is nothing to try to figure out yourself---it's serious and you don't want to risk losing function and/or senses.
