My symptoms are somewhat similar to yours & I was officially diagnosed in 2010. You've found a great group of people - welcome...
Welcome aboard! I'm a later bloomer still. I'm 58 and still stumbling my way thru limbo. I've had issues since my early 40's but no one had even tried to connect the dotted lesions until a few months ago.
This is the best place to be.
Hugs,
Linda
Hi Dianne I don't have ms but can relate to what you are saying. It gets old when it's hard to do the things you used to with no problems. Welcome to the group and I'm her if you ever need to talk or vent.
Yep. Another greeting from a late bloomer - I was age 51, just 3 weeks shy of 52, when I was diagnosed last year. I had a few issues before that happy event, like fibro, migraines, and some low back issues, none of which have been improved by tacking MS on top. Like you I have the unpredictable and crashing fatigue, a similar length of time before I'm DONE for the day, and walking/balance issues. At the moment no eye or cognitive symptoms - at least that I'm aware of. I'm still able to work in IT, and my eye doc says my eyes are merely deteriorating at the expected rate for one my age. A back-handed compliment, but I'll take it. ;-)
As the others have said, this is THE place to whine. This disease is so isolating - I'm already finding out. :( Coming here to read and remember that none of us is suffering these crap symptoms alone, is a great mental help. And I tend to be a research type, but the level of genuine medical knowledge here is pretty impressive - I learn something new each time I come here.
So welcome and complain away! :)
Karen
Welcome! You've joined a very supportive community with some pretty awesome people! I'm in limbo, but they let me hang around and pester them with questions/concerns and for that I am so very grateful!
Karen
Greetings from another late bloomer. I was 51 when I wwas diagnosed. This is a friendly place where you do not have to keep up appearances :-) "stiff upper lip" "Soldering on" etc are noce, but not required here. We know, MS can really s*ck :-)
Kyle
Welcome Diann,
Your symptoms sound like mine. I just noticed I am slowing down when I walk. I am tired a lot. I am also on chemo so I can't sort it out with the fatigue. I was 46 when I was diagnosed.
Alex.
Hi Diann. Welcome to the club no one wants to belong to but that said, we are the BEST group on the forums………
Are you on any DMD meds for your MS?
You are definitely not a late bloomer, I was diagnosed at 69.
Welcome again, and whining (with cheese of course) is always welcome, questions, problems, comments, we will listen!!
