Yesterday I posted the following on the what's happening thread:-
"I am quite excited, I know thats really sad, But tuesday I see the eye specialist, I really hope he can sort out the double vision and pain around the eye as well as the droop and then I will be able to drive my beloved yellow beetle again! Ok so I know it's only my first appointment and there wil be alot of talking and not much happening but a girl can dream!"
I knew the specialist was probabley going to suggest botoxilin injections around th eye what I didn't expect was having discussed the pros and cons he asked if I wished to go down that route and then did it there and then! He has explain that it will take a couple of days to feel the effect but will feel something also I need to return in 2 months for more and they will build up the dose.
On downside he explain that the problems I was experiencing did not completley fall into one catagory some of it would be classes as Hemifacail spasm on the other hand I also hand symptoms indicative of Blepharospasm although quite different both are life long conditions and can not be cured, but the injections were the way forward.
I asked quite a lot of intelligent questions at the appointment but of course when you come away you have time to think about it. How long can I go on having these injections for? "Dr Google" say 5 years approximatley and you become immune, what happens then?
Maybe if they could just sort out what was causing all my neurological issues it could all be resolved as I keep being told that" it's nothing serious" & " I don't have MS or any other life threatening condition"
Opps a bit of a rant there, sorry
