Another question ------- Maybe Quix?

OK I have been going back and forth on this one all day long as what to do. It actually 2 parts as I don't think they are related.

1)  On the 29th I had an EMG done and ever since then the calf of my left leg has been hurting. It feels like the muscle is real tight, except is isn't the whole muscle. It is isolated to an area about the size of a grapefruit toward the inside of my leg about 6 inches above my ankle. I don't remember them sticking the pin/needle in any where near that spot. But I do think it was about there that they did some of the nerve conduction shock testing. It also seems to be hurting more each day. Also putting weight on that leg makes it worse. I have been thinking of making the 2 hour trip to the VA hospital this weekend to have it checked out. Or waitng until Monday when I might not have to go through the ER, but get a same day appt with a doctor. I'm not even sure what if anything they could do about it.

2) This has also been happening since the EMG but really don't think it is at all related. About every other morning I am being awakened by the taste of vomit in my mouth and I end up running to the bathroom. I will then spend about 1/2 hour spiiting up very small amounts of vomit (mostly it is dry heaves). I have no neausa during this, no fever, or anything else. Should I go to ER or wait again. Also should I be calling the cardiologist as I am scheduled for a heart cath on the 9th to let them know about this?

Dennis,
I'm not Quix but my answer is when in doubt, call your doctor or go to the ER.

The EMG's I had done left my legs really hurting for a good week or so before it quieted down again.  But the weight bearing was not a problem - with you complicated medical history I would definitely be talking to the doctor.

Do you suffer acid reflux/GERDs?  The dry heaves is not normal - nor is the vomiting.

feel better,

I guess I'll wait a little longer on the leg pain. When they did the nerve conduction test they actually came back after all the testing was done so that the head doctor could retest my left leg in that area that hurts. Maybe that is why it is hurting more than I remember from the last time.

Yes I am Dx with GERDS and take medicine for it 2x a day. This is the one apart of the question I was hoping Quix could answer as I'm not sure if this could just be the GERD acting up or not. I guess I should have put this part in my OP.

One other thing is in the past I have gotten the dry heaves just from seeing or smelling an animal or child vomit. MAde me pretty inefective when ever my duaghter got sick because I would end up right next to her in the bathroom being sick.
