Ess, I wish there was a 'like' button for your comment - tulips always perk up a room and scream SPRING!
here's my tip - put a penny or two in your tulip vase and the flowers will last much longer. Don't know why, but it works and those stems will stand up straight.
Yes, southerners are not used to to these conditions and don't know how to navigate in them. A sad situation that I hope is over soon.
I'm pretty much used to snow and ice but still hate them. The other day I stopped at Trader Joe's and bought a bunch of 10 daffodils. The best $1.49 I ever spent!

I hope the folks in the south get out from under this weather, and soon. We can handle it here in Ohio even though we don't like it. Those pictures of people stranded in Atlanta are heart breaking.
No snow here but doubt Diesel would keep mittens on! Thank goodness we had sun today as I had pacemaker appt and eye doctor appt…loved the way he giggled when he told me I could have passed the eye exam at the drivers exam office on my present prescription!
But he did up the power some.
Everyone stay warm………the DEEP South did get bit hard. We were lucky as we had 10" on Christmas last year…….
Sarah
thought I would bump this up after seeing how the South got hit with a winter snow storm.
Here in the Chicago area its no big deal, we have the plows and salt.
I feel your pain..
take care

I might add I do have paw mittens for Kouper. My Boxer,,
I think If my dog could swear, he is calling me names each time I take him out.
know the feeling, it was 7 above the other morning and we are relying on the electric ($$$) heat as we just disconnected the soapstone wood stove and are trying to hook up the pellet stove ourselves……..took 4 of us to move the soapstone out on the porch!
Everyone stay warm! I only let Diesel out long enough to conduct her business and bring her back in so her pads don't get frostbite.. Spring is about 51 days away, so hang on!
