MS symptoms but no one thinks I need testing

My mother has/had lupus but just found out she was misdiagnosed and really has MS. For the last couple years my balance has gotten really bad and my vision in my left eye has gotten worse, as well as extreme fatigue. Thought nothing of it last month when it got hot all those symptoms got much worsealong with headaches every day and weakness/ twitching in my left arm and leg. I have dropped a lot of things and almost fallen several times but luckily caught myself. When my mom was rediagnosed she told me I should look into it and upon researching became pretty concerned because a lot of the symptoms I have had awhile but never thought anything of it. Now I'm trying so hard to get doctors and even the hospital to listen to me and test me. They won't they say its in my head, maybe I'm depressed and I'm to young for MS, I'm 29 a mother of two and need help. Am I to young are the symptoms I have something else?

Thank you for your response both were helpful. After another serious ER visit I finally got a referal to a neurologist for an MRI. My cat scan at hospital was normal so I hope an MRI can help diagnose me.

My MS expert at a prestigious university hospital said the average age of onset of MS is 28. Thirteen would be considered young, but certainly not 29.

Balance problems, vision problems, and extreme fatigue are common signs of MS.  If current doctors are dismissing you, find a new one and start from scratch. Your symptoms alone warrant testing.

You are not too young for MS by any means. If your mom is nearby maybe you can get in to see her doctor, but regardless you need to have a PCP that listens. You may not have MS -- other things have similar symptoms, as your mom learned -- but you do have something that warrants attention.
