what is going on?

Well I have a question .
Sunday my left arm started acing   nothing major just a dull pain. Monday same thing , by Monday night my neck and face was tingly and a bit numb as well. Not to the point where I could not function just a dull pain, specially in my albow and wrist joint with a tingly feeling and lack of function it it.
I was severely tired and fell asleep by 9pm , normally I have issues sleeping . Tuesday my left side of my chest felt like a fist was stuck in it on top of all other symthoms. I slept all tuesday, we'd and half Thursday . Did Not Wake Up For Anything , I Was Drained . Thursday night I went to ER ekg looked great , x-ray great, blood was great . The doc was posetive it was MS and ran a MRI . Well he spotted nerve damage in face and because of this said bells palsy . He prescribed steroids to help . He said he it may still be MS but he does not want to diagnose that st the ER . He said my strength on left side was much less then on right , my left eye blinked slower as well. But I still could move my lips, forehead and wrinkle my nose , something u can't with bells palsy .
Tonight I still have all the symthoms with the lag spasm I threw out as nothing on monday really getting huge. My leg is twitching from muscle spasms,  it feel like a burning pain in my left arm, shoulder and left leg . My face is still a bit numb but not to where it's not working . I can not move my pinkie , today I dropped a frying pan and my kids dinner plate picking it up with the left hand .
There is no way this is bells palsy . The pain is annoying , but not cry worthy lol. It's keeping me up tonight, or maybe that's the steroids.  Most spasms ate happening in upper arm, left leg and the side of my left chest .
Do I keep pushing for a diagnoses ? Is the nerve damage seen in the mri a sign of MS? I am a 29 year old mom too 4 kids. I can't just lay on the couch for three days like this or drop their dinners all over .
I'm scared and looking for answers . Is this MS symthoms og a flair up ? How long do they last? Do they come often ? Will it be hard to diagnose it ?

Sorry About THE But Load Of Questions , Just A Bit scared right now

Thank u so much , u were very helpful . Yes I left the ER with a diagnoses of something that does not explain my problems at all . He did say it still may be MS but if first flair up its hard to see on the MRI , so the facial nerve damage for now pointed to bells . I have another apt mon . The thing is I have no insurance . Racked up 10 000 in hospital bills already and can't afford much more . My fiancee and I have been together 3 years and thinking about doing a court house wedding so I can be added to his insurance . They won't add me and cover me with a MS diagnoses . So I have to wait . How can I help with the pain until then? My doc said he will prescribe more steroids at next apt if not better as that will help it, and we will wait with neuro apt til insured in a month or so . I just can't afford this . My left fingers are no longer responding the way I want , their doing their own thing .
I Had A CT Scan That Was Clear As My D-dimer Was High THEy Thought blood cloth in lungs . Had 2 ekg , 2 full blown blood tests , 2 xrays rays,1 MRI where nerve damage was spotted . Not sure what other testing they can do other then spinal test and as of now I can't afford that . So what could I do to ease it? I quit smoking , on day 3 now lol . And stopped drinking energy drinks . Any other tips in diet change or anything ?

Thank you so much for responding

Hi and welcome to our little MS community,

Yes MS is definitely possible, because your sx's are all on your left side of your body (unilateral) and MS most commonly presents unilaterally..........BUT that doesn't necessarily mean MS is the only possible explanation!

Your questions....

1: Is this MS symthoms og a flair up ?
A: possible

2: How long do they last?
A: IF it is MS, then that is too difficult to say because technically a relapse can last for as little as 24 hours to as long as months and months, so unfortunately no one can really tell you for sure.

3: Do they come often ?
A: Again that's too difficult to say, MS is unique to each person and it's possible to go years and years between relapses or a matter of months.

4: Will it be hard to diagnose it ?
A: MS can be difficult and complicated to dx, there are a lot of conditions that first need to be ruled out and the dx is based on all your sx and presentation, combined test results, clinical signs, medical history etc and that can take some time, although it's also possible to dx straight away.

You really need to be seen by a neurologist, preferably one that specialises in MS because MS is possible due to your sx type, unilateral presentation, young age, gender and brain MRI results so far. Keep in mind that MS does have many mimics you'll need testing to rule out, clinical neuro exam for any noted clinical signs of lesion damage, another brain MRI using MS protocol with and with out contrast and also a full spinal MRI. With you already having 4 children, there is the possibility of some structural issues that need to be ruled out too.

I find it rather strange that the ER neuro(?) would be thinking MS but then only dx bells palsy based off the MRI results, especially considering you not actually complaining of facial issues or having the typical physical problems associated with it. Something definitely seems odd with that dx and its your left arm, chest and leg that's the problem, so i 100% believe you need a second opinion with a competent neurologist!

Cheers............JJ
