I'm back!!

Hey guys!  For those of you who may remember me, I was a regular on this forum for a while mid to late last year.  I have not been on in a while, and the entire time I was gone absolutely nothing happened with my search for medical answers.  My insurance cancelled in November, because I had quit my job due to not being able to physically perform my duties.  I was unable to afford to keep going to my doctors and keep up with all of the tests.  Around Christmas I became extremely depressed and even suicidal.  I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital where I stayed for ten days, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and given a regimen of meds.  The meds really did seem to help!  I was recently approved for medicaid, and have started going to the doctor again, and right on time, too, as I had a very bad episode here recently (physically, not mentally).  During this episode, I started to become depressed and anxious again, but have been struggling to keep it together.  Does anyone else deal with mental illness along with their physical problems? and Any tips on persevering through all of this diagnostic stuff while keeping your sanity in tact?  All answers, comments, or anything are greatly appreciated!

Welcome back Tiffany.  T-Lynn said it best with her advice.  I'm just saying hello and wishing you well with the right combo of meds. You said they 'did' seem to work.  Are you not on them now? I'd say if they worked, then go back if you can.  Besides a good support group, and therapy, it's going to be important to treat the depression, with meds, etc.

Thank you for coming back, trusting us, and reaching out to us on this.

Take care,
shell
