Post Lumbar

Hi...

I had my lumbar puncture on Tuesday...I think today is Thursday.  How long before this intense back pain gets better?  Yes, I have the headache but it is mild in comparrison to my back.  I can feel my pulse all the way from the insertion site traveling up my spine to my neck.  The throbbing is terrible.

I had 3 failed attempts and that made my back hurt so bad I couldnt even move. At the hospital they were soaking towels and putting them in the dryer or something because they were really hot, they would roll them up so they were something hard to lean up against and put them in freezer zip lock bags to keep the heat in, that seemed to help quite a bit!! They did finally get it done the fourth time which of course gave me a headache, which lasted about 4 days until I had a blood patch done which I do not reccommend.

I had a headache but not a back ache.

My back pain went a way in a few days. The headcache two weeks.

I don`t want to worry you needlessly.......but that doesn`t sound right.

Maybe you should phone your doctor for advice, I sure would if I was you.

Maybe this is common after an LP, but I have never heard of it.

Have you tried ice packs?  It helps...
