Progesterone side effects?

Tomorrow morning I am going in for a double biopsy to see if I have Giant Cell Arteritis.  I already have Polymyalgia Rheumatica and possibly Fibromyalgia...on top of MS.  I've been taking Progesterone 40mg for 2 weeks and have stepped down to 30mg.
My arms are shaking a lot, (they shook before, but not like this). My heart is beating really hard for short periods, not every day) I am really off balance (nothing new here-but it's worse), and the symptoms of Giant Cell Arteritis have gotten worse since I started on Prednisone.  (sharp eye pain in both eyes now-pressure in temples, pain in temples going into the jaw).
I don't know what is causing what any more.  Has anyone had this cluster of diseases and had similar reactions.  I do know that Prednisone can cause some of these symptoms.  I'm a nervous Nellie about that test tomorrow-probably because I've had so many doc appointments lately that I'm stressed out about them all.
Wednesday I am supposed to meet with a nurse who will start me on Copaxone-but it wasn't delivered yesterday so who knows when that is going to happen. I am really worn down by all of this and don't know what to think.  Charley

I have looked up the side effects at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/portals/public.html and I do have what they call 'serious side effects', but I've had some of them before which I thought   were just MS symptoms.  They are worse now after taking Progesterone.  My head is spinning.  Charley

Hi Charley. I'm afraid I'm not knowledgeable at all in all the areas you mention. I can certainly understand why you're confused and fearful. Have you looked up the side effects of progesterone?  I was on that years ago and couldn't tolerate it, but for the life of me I can't remember what happpened. Like you, I too have been on loads of meds.

In your place I would ask as much as you can during your biopsy, and would also bombard your PCP with questions. He or she should be guiding you through all of this. The stress factor makes things incredibly worse.

I don't know whether MedHelp has forums for some of the conditions you mention, but try searching this out. If you go elsewhere on the web, make sure you find sites that are part of respected medical institutions with info you can trust.

Please let us know how you do tomorrow and throughout this.
