Avonex

Heh, just a quick question , has anyone experienced itchy, super dry skin on my face and neck.  Cortisone cream has become my friend.....

My hair seems fried too, does not matter how much conditioner and stuff I put on, it is fuzzy and gross on the ends......

Has anyone had these things happen to them.

Thanks in advance
Candy

Skin still really itchy, not bright red blotches on my face and neck.  From cheekbone to cheekbone, and across my nose.  Now it is also under my left eye, and again on my jawline and throat.

The Avonex nurse did not disappoint., she did not BOTHER to call me back, so this is day ja vu for me.  Can't seem to get anyone to pay attention to me.

Have a great day, and hoping you are getting along well with the Avonex, I just called Missauga , Ontario the head office, to report my symptons, and she will contact the nurse for the Vancouver Island and see if she will finally contact me after being told again from her head office., I did not know what to next, hoping this will work ...

LOL , about your scratching, it is kinda contagious,

Good luck and take good care,
Candy

Hi Candy,
When I was on the Avonex I had terrible itchy skin. I would start scratching and I would well up from the scratching. I also found that it dried out my skin as well. I use pure coconut oil right out of the shower then gold bond lotion right over the top of the oil. It seems to be helping tremendously. The oil soaks in quickly and the lotions seems to seal in the moisture.
I hope this helps. Sorry you have this to deal with on top of everything else.
Best regards, barb

This sounds like it could be infection related.  Has it moved into your kidneys?  Someone I knew, that had kidney problems had all kinds of trouble with her skin too.

As you know, I'm pre-Dx, therefore I have no experience with any of the DMDs.  However, it's February!  I get all that stuff & more most of the winter anyway!  Lotions, creams, conditioners, whatever.  Comes with living too far north! ;-)
