I seem to be the "Queen of the MRI's" since I have had so many over the past decade. I do not remember anything as you describe. Not to say that it didn't happen. I believe you.
It's my guess and this is only a guess, that the pain in your eye, MIGHT have been caused by the fluid in your sinuses filling up while in the MRI for so long. Maybe you can look at your films when and if you get them and see if the sinus area below that hurting eye, was more fluid filled than the other.
Let us know what you find out.
All the Best,
Heather
I don't know.
It is all strange for sure!
No. The opthamologist didn't notice anything in my eye and it wasn't a sharp pain, it was more like a more intense global eye pain behind that eyeball. The vision was also quite a bit more blurry than before, too. I thought it was strange (but what's not strange with MS?).
My thinking is that when I told the radiologist what my symptoms were (they always ask before the MRI), that she focused more on that area (and the cranial nerves for hearing, too, when I told her about my hearing). Perhaps something with the MRI causes this????
Have you ever done anything were you might have gotten some metal in your eye?
The effect was immediately after the MRI. The pain was quite a bit worse in that eye, when before it was just a dull ache. Then the pain returned to the normal dull ache behind the right eyeball, later on that evening.

Hi Deb, was this effect immediate, later in the day, or days later? If you have optic neuritis you can have pain at any time... so I'm just wondering how close the connection is.... thanks! I know the dyes made me feel very strange immediately but I managed!
