Hi everyone! I'm about 22 years old, I am 5'2”, 105 -117 lbs. and I've been having problems over the course of time. Four of them are quite disturbing. I just want to know if this is something to ask my doctor about, or if I should stay at home and forget about it.
1) Chin numbness – This started last year and it was rather unnerving. So I Googled it and I saw that I either had a metastatic, invasive cancer and my days were numbered, or I had MS. I called the health center at my college and I talked to a nurse, and she didn't seem to take me seriously. Since I am still alive, I figure I don't have some life threatening cancer. But I have seen chin numbness linked to anxiety.
2) Foot dragging – 2 years ago I started having trouble moving my left foot. It was dragging behind me, scraping the ground and causing me to stumble. I thought it was new boots or that I was just imagining it. So I ignored it. But one day one of my aunts saw me and asked me why my foot was dragging. I was relieved to know I wasn't just imagining it. It comes back and goes away and I asked my dad about it, and he said it was because I don't exercise enough, so my muscles are atrophying.
3) Blurred vision – In kindergarten I first started wearing glasses for near-sightedness. But after 2nd grade (7 years old0), I stopped wearing them until I was 18 years old and in college. One day, I was sitting at work looking at the monitors and my the screen blurred. At first I thought it was only a temporary issue, so I looked again. But it wasn't temporary, so I called my mom. She took me to get glasses. The problem was only resovled for a few weeks. Even with my glasses on, my vision blurs. I don't know if it could be MS because it is both eyes, and MS usually causes only one-sided eye problems.
4) Chest constriction – On and off over time I experience what I describe as a constricted chest. I can't take a deep breath and I can feel my ribs and muscles resisting expansion. It last for only a few minutes and feels better if I am relaxed. This could be anxiety or costochondritis or an early heart attack...
