Very interesting. Statins almost killed me literally and left me with heart damage. I abhor them but my dh takes for cholesterol and does fine. Thanks for information.

I do not have high cholesterol but my PCP had a partner who participated in the study about statins and MS so she wanted me on them. I looked it up and the study was a flop. I asked a MS Specialist at a MS Dinner. He said if you need statins then you need to be on them otherwise he does not recommend them for MS.

This feels topical for me. I am on an MS oral drug trial in UK and my cholesterol has been increasing upwards since I started so I am fairly certain I am on the drug rather than the placebo (and so is my Consultant). I am eating healthily, exercising regularly and eating "proven" cholesterol reducing milk, spread, yoghurt etc. So I shall wait and see if this has done any good when my bloods are done again next week. My Consultant was happy for me not to go on Statins (as I am very resistant) so I shall keep my fingers crossed. I was interested to read your post so thanks and will try and find out more.

It is such a tough call .... spasticity or artherosclerosis? The cardio has me back on Lipitor in a very small dose and it has dropped my numbers significantly. I had forgotten about that connection and now have to wonder if the lipitor is a factor in my need to up my baclofen dose.
Thanks for the timely reminder,
Lulu
Thanks for that info... I have high chol and have been avoiding statins like the plague because of my already dodgy tendons, muscles etc (long before MS was even in my vocabularly) and I'd read that statins could possibly make those issues worse for me.
