Steroids, a love/hate relationship in MS

So, I went though all the huge awful ups and downs with the Solumedrol.  I "forgot" how much I hated them, until I had them again. I said I will "NEVER" do this again...Makes me a crazy, mean, insomniac lunatic with sky high BP.

Well, it is almost a week later and I feel almost "great!"  Double vision is gone, more energy, speech no longer slurred, etc.

So, I think it will be like childbirth.  (How quickly you forget the pain, when you get (hopefully), such a good outcome and feel SO much better.

Just thought I would share with you all,

Michelle

Thank you all. Ren, yes, Chipotle survived.  I was nice. Hmm,

Julie, I am glad we both have good news to share here.  I have been thinking of you lots, and am so happy you are going home today.  Nothing like sleeping in your own bed, without the "beeps" of a hospital/rehab place.

Let us know how the day goes, going to be busy, so take care as best you can today, and relax as much as you can.

This is really good news Michelle.  I have been so worried about you and seeing this post has made my heart smile now.

Yep, we have a love/hate relationship with these medications but when they work, the results are miraculous.

Enjoy your new found freedom from the DB.  Now its my turn, eh.

Hugs,

Julie

I'm one of those people that takes them and the only thing I notice is the heartburn.  As long as I remember to take the Pepcid, I;m not sure I'd even notice.

I know the feeling, I swore them off too. I said I will never take them again but I know that if I get as bad as I was I will do it again.

YAY for you that you are feeling better, so happy for you. Keep the uphill climb going for a long time to come.

I have more of a hate relationship with them, since I'm hyper-sensitive to the steroids.  In fact, the neuro said after they stopped my IVSM early, that they didn't know if they would let me take it again.

I'm glad that you're feeling so much better.   :-)
