Debilitating Dizziness

I posted this question in response to an old posting so I thought I would repost as a new question...

I understand this subject on this forum is 3 years old but I am at my wits end trying to find some relief from my debilitating dizziness caused by my MS which I am certain of the cause because it is what initially got me to the doctor to get an MRI and then I was diagnosed with MS and My Neurologist at the time said according the amount of damage done and the age of the damage it looked like I had MS for 15 to 20 years.

I suffer from sever fatigue as well and I take Adderall to combat this. Adderall helps sometimes but it also exacerbates the dizziness so its a "catch 22". It seems the only thing that helps is shutting my eyes for at least 15 minutes every hour or 2 and that is no way to live IMO.

Anyone have any suggestions or further insight on dizziness and MS and how to possibly treat it given my circumstances that I described above?

Thanks,

Erik

Hi Erik and welcome to our little corner of the web, great people to get to know, we're from all over the world so its always interesting as well as informative lol You might like to take some time out to read our MS health pages, they just about cover every question you can think of. Easiest way to get to the health pages is just to the right of your screen, box headed 'most viewed health pages' you'll see just at the bottom of that box 'see all health pages' click on that and your there.lol make your self a giant cup of coffee cause you might be there a while :-)

As for your question on dizziness, vertigo is a difficult one but I'm wondering if its coming from visual problems eg diplopia, basically confusing and over loading your brain. Why I'm thinking of that is that the closing of your eyes and resting seems to calm it down for a while. If your eyes are the problem it may help to get your eyes checked out to see if prism glasses help at all.

Other than that i'm stumped on ideas, but i'm sure someone else will chime in on this one for you.

Cheers.........JJ
