Tecfidera report

I am, so far, grateful for TECFIDERA.   I have been on it since early November,   My first drug was Plegridy injections, and after 5 months I had a bad reaction,  almost as though I was experiencing a relapse.  Also injection site reactions As soon as I went off it, I recovered.   Next drug was copaxone and  four months into it I started getting severe, chills after a shot to the point I had to get in the shower for an hour, teeth chattering, and then extraordinarily weak, getting into sweats, under two down comforters and then shivering uncontrollably for an hour.  Also injection site reactions, hot bumps that would not subside for weeks.Enough. So once again, jumping through. Pharma hoops and was put on Tecfidera since early November 2015.   I always take it with food, take an antihistamine, and Aleve with it, and have had no reaction, so far.   Next MRI will be in March and blood test.    Time will tell.

That is great news. I have been on it  for about 15 months. I have tolerated it very well. I can even take it and other meds on an empty stomach.  No problems.

August 2014 was the last time my MRIs showed any progression. I had new brain lesions and an old lesion at C2 was enhanced (active). I started the Tec September 2014. I had a brain scan last week that was unchanged, although I am currently having  a significant increase in my symptoms.

I hope it is just a flair and you return to your previous state.

Awesome news! I was one of the unlucky ones who had trouble from the start but managed to tough it out and I have been on it since May 2014.

I only used Rebif for a year before Tec but was more than ready to give up injection site reactions,

Hi
I've been on Tecfidera since Sept. I always have it after breakfast and after dinner, middle of the day I often get flushing/itchy skin but easily sorted with mini aspirin. Occasional upset stomach too, but nothing that would stop me taking it.

Feel very lucky to be on it and ok after seeing others struggle. Really glad to see its working out well for you after a few false starts on meds. You must be very happy to find something that suits you.
