Hi Maggie,
I seem to get the pleasure of all the stages of the steroids LOL!!!!!!
I spent 5 days on the IV steroids (from home, yipeee) last week and then straight to the tapper down of the prednisone. I have 10 days left.
this is my third time in 6 months and I have to day everytime has been different.
the first few days on the tapper daown I slept most of the days and night, felt beat up and very irritable. thank god i didnt hit the deep deppression I have experienced in the past the first day or so on the prednisone..........
after a couple of days the energy has kicked in and now I seem to be able to get alot of what i havent been able to do the last few weeks done.
I still try to force myself to take naps, or at least rest my body for awhile, just because I know my body is tired i just cant feel it and I dont want to pay for it later when the steroids wear off if you know what i mean.
I'll be curious to see how the rest of your experience work out on the steroids. let me know.
april
Steroids can make some people shakie. So what you report is not unusual. This will pass...so don't be afraid. It is perfectly normal. It may be that you blood sugar levels are off. Either too high or too low.
I am glad that you are able to sleep. I wasn't able to sleep for 5 days. I was tired, but couldn't sleep. Finally had to get a short prescription for sleeping aids.
Please keep us up to date. I hope that you feel better soon, dear heart.
Heather
