Think My Body's Trying to Tell Me Something

More an update than a question.  Well, I was doing well-for a few days.  Now the Neurontin isn't helping at all.  My whole body is burning/prickling and hurting again, almost like I have the flu, and a finger in the light socket. And the corner of my mouth is still tingling.  I would lay down and cry, but I have to work!
Apparently I overdid it the last few days.  Overactive and overheated.
I think I will be calling my family doc, and maybe ask about seeing a Rhuemy and upping or changing meds. Is this my body's way of saying, "duh, it's fibromyalgia"?
Either way , I've decided I'm ditching my neuro!

Yep!  I agree with you...... Time to find a new Neuro :)
So sad when a Supposed Medical Proffesional treats their patients (sp) in that manner!
I hope that you can get through to your PCP in the morning to get something to help you relieve this pain.

My thoughts are w/ you :)  Let us know what happens...Keep in touch.
Peace,
~Tonya

I have been on the Neurontin for 2+ months, and it seemed to start working almost right away.  And at least I still haven't had a migraine HA since starting it.  I was started on it by my GP for pain, which is back full force-the migraine prevention was just an added benefit (and something I should have done long ago as I generally get a mod-severe HA 1-4 x's a week).  Today I also started getting mild twinges like the (possible) TN is also coming back.

Tonyad-my neuro has shown me that I am little more than test results and a copay, and he doesn't seem to be even a fraction as knowledgeable as the people on this forum!

   Hello,

Sorry that you are feeling so bad and that the meds are not working for you at this time. You say that you are "ditching" your Neuro....Is he/she a complete jerk?

I would certainly call your doc in the morning and let them know what is going so that this can be charted in your file and also for some input as to what could be going on.

    Hope your week goes better.
Peace,
~Tonya

How long have you been on the Neurontin? I had a doctor explain to me that in the beginning of taking a drug like Neurontin it can actually set off the nerves. I had this happen when I started Lyrica then it went away.
