Hi all,
I'm a bit down after a disappointing end to a long awaited medical appointment. I was sent to an internal medicine specialist, apparently a well respected in the local medical community. I was prepared with my list of symptoms, timeline of events, bag of medications.
After a chat, he examined me and said that I seemed healthy, and neurologically sound, and that my issues were related to menopause. He suggested that I get more exercise, which is fair enough (although weight isn't a big problem for me and I'm in my correct BMI range.). My MRI shows no lesions.
The main symptoms which I mentioned to him are that occasionally I stop breathing (as per an earlier post, sort of pre-sleep apnea) and a major electrical jerk in my back which is accompanied by a loud 'sound' like speaker feedback, which happens while I'm sleeping. I also mentioned many of the other usual neuro symptoms, but these two, and the fatigue, are the ones which trouble me most.
When things were at their worse, I felt that i couldnt cope with the fatigue, but now I can manage day to day by taking time off work when I feel the fatigue
starting, and by not over doing things generally.
I'm trying to decide if I should stop hitting my head against this brick wall of trying to get a diagnosis, accept that maybe it's menopause, and just live with whatever it is. Any thoughts or insights insights would be appreciated. Thanks, and sorry for the rant.
