OT.....My grandson is born! :-)

Gosh I wish I was there right now!  I have not talked to my son yet, he is a little busy right now, I am sure!  My grandson was born by scheduled c-section.  Mom is doing well.  Everything went smoothly.  

I am having mixed feelings right now.  I am so very happy with my son being a father now and my having another grandson.  But then it hurts my heart that I couldn't be there for his birth.  I so wanted to go to AZ for the birth.  Several things stopped me from being able to go.  I am really upset about it...but so happy he is finally here!  This makes grandchild number five for me!

Born at 8:14am, AZ time
7 lbs 15 oz
21 in long

I haven't received any pictures of him just yet, but I am sure I will get some a little later today!

PasterDan, I have always left the steps out of it...that and the halves.  You would be grandpa as far as I am concerned!  Enjoy those lil ones.  :)

I always loved when my own kids would bring me a book to read them.  I will enjoy it with my grandkids very soon!

Many congrats indeed, and I think Wyatt's a very cool name.

None of my "own" (and don't expect any), but married a wonderful grandma who then had 6 and 1 on the way, and another's arrived since that one came.  I love being a stepgrandpa, if there is such a word.  Second littlest one brought his story book to me a few days ago so I could read to him.  Loved that.

Thank you so much, you guys!!   I finally got pictures of my beautiful little man and he is just perfect!   I talked to my son just a few minutes ago and he said that Wyatt is a quiet one, has not cried but like four times and even then it was just a little.  

My son is so excited with all of this.  He got to cut the cord.  I asked him what he thought when he first saw Wyatt and he said both he and mama Maegan both cried.  Awwww!

I can't quite smiling!!

Oh yeah, I have been crocheting.  I don't know how to knit.  I am making a blanket for my lil man!

I can`t wait to be a grandma, but my oldest son is 21 and has no intentions of a girlfriend even at this point!  So....

I hope I`m just healthy enough to enjoy them when/if I get some grandchildren.

But then you reminded me of the "joys" of teenagers (I have 3 at home still) so maybe a break from children would be nice before grandkids!  LOL

Shell, I love the nam, too!  This lil guy has some pretty big boots to fill, but I am sure he will have no problems doing so, especially with the father he has!

I have to wait until my daughter is on Spring Break from school before I can go.  If you remember I was having issues with my daughter just before I disappeared from the forum?  Well, part of the outcome for what was going on is that my daughter is on probation.  That is why we cannot move back to AZ until June.  It is also why I am not in AZ right now.  My daughter cannot miss even one day of school.  

So I will look at this as you commented....at least when I do see Wyatt in person, he will see me back!  Thanks!  :)

Hey, tired- Keatin is a great name, too!  I understand wanting to be near them.  Wyatt is one of the reasons we decided to move back to AZ.  I want to have him in my life.  :)

But two of my other grandchildren are in MI.  I have not seen either of them in person yet.  They are 5 and 2.   Then I have one in Canada.  He is 6.  I have never met him in person either.  Then I have one more in AZ.  I have met her in person and she is an absolute joy!
