Update and Question

I had my MRI.  I do not have my results yet, but at least it is over with.  I wanted to ask you guys if any of you have pain in your hands ever.  Like your joints and hands hurt so bad you cannot type and your hands become very weak.  They almost feel like they are burning.  If so, what do you use to get rid of it or get it under control.  It has become very had for me to do detailed tasks at work when this is at its worst.  The more I use my hands the worse it gets.  I am a biochemist and need to use my finger and hands for little things.  I need to figure out something to make it not hurt. Please let me know if any of you have any ideas.

Yes, I get burning pain in my feet, legs hands, arms and now it has crept up into my lower back and pelvic region.
It is terrible. aura3's advice sounds logical and helpful. I have been suffering with burning pain now for over 12 months, it really is the pits. It must be so difficult for you, gosh, I'm not sure myself what will relieve it. My standard pandeine/codeine don't do a darn thing so I asked the neuro and he has put me on "Tegretol" which is used for epilepsy. The other drug I believe helps is "Neurontin."
If you have just had your MRI then you may be a little way off getting some relief for this unless they call you in for the results. Jump up and down until they help you. I have had a terrible time trying to get this under control. I am fortunate that it isn't so bad in my hands, just my feet. The Tegretol seems to be helping to a degree although it doesn't get rid of it all together. Good luck with your results, it's an awful wait....

Hi Tahiri,
Sorry your having pain in your hands.  I do to at times, but I feel like my hands get all knotted up almost as if they are crippled and use less.  They become shaky and stiff.  I get a burning pain in the upper part of my hand not my palm.  Now I am on Lyrica that doesn't seem to be working as of yet. But I still have hope if the dosage is increased.

I do also use BIOFREEZE it is a topical gel.  It helps sometimes.  It doesn't stain and it smells for just a short while.  It is made to use for joint pain.  You can not but it in stores that I know of, only on-line.  Sometimes you can get it through a chiropractic office or massage place.  I have used this stuff for years.  Although is doesn't seem to help with all the many issues I have now.  Google the name or search Amazon.

Hope this helps you,
Aura
