Hi Val
Thanks for your comment
I asked the question wondering if MS could disturb the cycle or potentially medication you take, for example: Baclofen is a muscle relaxer and an antispastic/spasm drug so I wonder if this has an effect at all??
Kim :-)
Hi Kim, I'm reading with interest your question regarding the menstrual cycle being affected - I've been wondering about this as well as I swear mine goes haywire with every symptoms flareup....Dr says could always be my age but I'm not convinced

Hi and very late Merry Christmas and Peaceful New Year to everyone on this forum.
Lulu, thank you for your comments,
Does anyone recommend/have experience of (positive/negative) complementary therapies and MS.
Thank you
Kim
Hi Kim,
Welcome to the forum -- We are all glad that you have found the advice and discussions here useful.
To get to your questions, remember I am no medical expert, so if you need more info, please consult your doctors :
#1 - Ms should not make a difference for your cycle. MS is a central nervous system Menstruation is part of the reproductive system. But we do know that stress (see #2) can affect the timing of cycles, so go figure! :-)
#2 - Stress is the wild card with MS - although most scientific literature will say that stress does not technically affect symptoms, almost 100% of MS patients will tell you differently. My guess is that stress short circuits our hard wiring .... Perhaps we have the stress when we are working harder, processing information in a different way, or other human responses. It could be too that stress impacts our autonomic nervous system, and allows our symptoms to run amok. Again, you can tell I am no expert :-)
#3 - Yes,MS can cause problems with swallowing. I was tested extensively for gastric reasons why I was experiencing the phantom problems in my throat. The docs could not find a reason for the problem. Like you I am on Omeprazole (prevacid) for this as well.
So, there are my very simplified answers to your questions. I'm sure others will be along later today and add in their thoughts.
In the meantime, welcome again. I hope to se you around.
be well, Lulu
