Weird feeling in arms.. is it MS related?

I had a check-up on Friday (EKG, Blood test, and X-Ray) and after the blood test my arms haven't felt right since then. They did have trouble finding a vein and they had to stick a needle in both arms (on my "antecubital space") to try and get blood. And then they put an IV (for no real reason) on my arm, which I kept moving my arm around it kept hurting/bothering me.

Since then my arms have been very sore and I've been having sensations in them, like burning, tinging, sensations. Sometimes they last, sometimes they don't but my arm always has pain, sometimes just slightly, whenever I move it. When I wake up, they feel very weak, like I had been lifting weights the day prior. And sometimes it goes to my shoulders. I notice it's at its worse in the area where they put the band around my arm. It just feels very weird.

I don't know if they bothered nerves on my arm (which, again they did keep messing up trying to draw blood) or if it's a sign of MS. I do have some of the other symptoms of MS like lightheadedness, light dizziness, sometimes eye blurriness/pain, etc but I also suffer from anxiety and suffer from sinus problems alot. Like I read alot of the symptons of MS and start worrying myself.

I've always had a tingling sensation in my arms, like the circulation is being cut off but I think it mainly stems from the fact I always sleep on them all the time and the way I rest my arm on my desk alot.

I'll probably get checked out for MS anyways, just to be safe, but I'm just wondering if a blood test would cause that to trigger an MS symptom, the way is has. Because before it, I never had the burning sensations of the feeling of muscle weakness.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response!

Could this also be from dehydration, which my doctors think I could have? I've heard of dehydration causing dizziness after a hot shower. Or hypotension, which I also could have and will be tested for..

I'm also having classic sinus symptoms lately too, as the weather has been changing drastically here everyday and my sinuses are terrible. That's what my doctor diagnosed me with a couple months ago when I was constantly dizzy.

Plus I also haven't experienced any memory loss, that I know of, and I know that's a major factor of MS.

I'm probably just scaring myself into it

Mikech,

Hi there. I'd like to point you to our health pages if you would like to learn about MS.

In short, MS is a disease of the central nervous system that causes damage to the myelin in the spinal cord, and brain. Damage caused by MS is currently irreversible. It's not something that will be regularly looked into for detection based on what you describe here. It's a serious disease that is oftentimes difficult to manage, of which there is no cure, but there is treatment available that has successfully managed some MSers.

I do not want to minimize what you are experiencing, rather reassure you that it is my opinion you need not worry about this disease based on what you describe. And, you would be best served by visiting your doctor to describe what you are experiencing post check-up.

Wishing you well,
-Shell

Also to update, I just took a hot shower about a half hour ago and I noticed my dizziness got worse and my eyes feel light pressure.

I got very anxious in the shower though and started worrying it could happen so I don't know if it could be anxiety. Still worrying about it. Plus sometimes when I wake up, it's really hot in my room and my symptoms DO NOT get worse. I actually feel fine when I wake up hot or when I'm in a hot room or something.

I know taking a shower for some people can make you dizzy anyways, with or without MS.

I'm guessing best bet is to get tested out.

A little update, after I got up and stretched and let my arms relax, the tingling sensation in them went away (like they usually do) but the pressure was still there and so is the feeling of muscle weakness, especially in the area where they put the band on my arm.
