What Now?!?!

HI all,

Is this another new symptom? I was in the shower, not too hot (per Quix), and I felt like my chin had ice on it. I thought maybe the water ran out of hot water, but no, just my face?! It is now about an hour later, and I still feel like there is an ice pack on my chin and part of my neck. It is very disconcerting...anybody ever have this.

I started a new med, Trileptal, last night. Perhaps this is a side effect? Anyone know?
Michelle

Yup, too right - it's a paresthesia.  I get it on the side of my right thigh... it's going on right now, actually!  I also get cold pinpricks along my back.

Thank you SO much for your response. I appreciate you looking up the med for me...The sensation is better now, so that is good. Too many wierd things lately...
Hugs,

I looked up Trileptal and it does not list paraesthesias or abnormal skin sensations as a side effect.

I don't know if it will help your situation but when I rub the area where my occurs it seems to help, possibly by diverting some of the nerve sensation to the new stimulus- the rubbing of the skin in the surrounding area.

I have the "wet ice-pack" sensation on my thigh. It's a paraestheia. I do not know if starting the Trileptal is connected or not. I am not on Trilepatal and my ice pack comes and goes as it pleases. I agree it is very disconcerting.

Sorry. Hope it goes away soon.
