well now, indeed i did learn why it must be room temp. yep, that must have been it. the cold to the muscle/skin there in the injection site. i forgot about that.
thanks for the tip on taking out 5 at a time. see, that is why i'm lucky to have found this forum!
"truelove47", the spasms in this particular case is just the immediate area around the injection site and underneath the injection site. guess that area got shocked due to the cold temp of the medicine.
thanks all
UF2 - Boston Lover is right - copaxone must not be given when it is chilled and you have learned first hand why that is. I also pull out a five pack of syringes at a time and keep them on the counter in the blue pouch.
You can actually keep them all out of the fridge for up to 30 days but you would have to watch your heat out there in the desert - that can damage the copax.
this reminds me I still have to go do mine for the night!

Copaxone must be at room temperarue when it's injected. You should wait 30 minutes after taking in out of the fridge before you inject it. You could also hold it in your hand to warm it up faster. I always pull a 5-pack out of the fridge at a time and keep it in the blue zipper case. I pull a new one out when I get down to 2 left in my pouch.
I don't think it's possible to go too deep unless you really have no fat at the injection site.
Sorry for the spasm dance. I really don't know about the temp or deepness of injection
I take avonex with an iced up spot and also get spasms just about every time'.
My spasms I believe are from anxiety, I hate them,
I have tried everything, from not looking (hubby gives them to me ) or to try to
think about something good. With me it is nerves, Temp sounds very logical to me
Hopefully it will be better next time
Feel better
