Why does something alway have to hurt or need surgery?

Oh boy,  I had surgery in 2007 for my left Achilles, I had a bone spur removed and the Dr removed some of the tendon..

Speed forward to this week, I couldn't  take the pain any more  in my left  achilles and went to see  the Dr that did the Achilles surgery on my right ankle in 2011.     I  Gave him the history of  the surgery of 2007 by the ortho that did the 2007 surgery.
He told me he tries to not to remove soft tissue,  and thats what the other Dr did 2007.
THATS   CODE FOR THE OTHER  DR SCREWED UP AND I PAY THE PRICE...

Xray reveal the done spur is back and it back with a vengeance and seems worse than before in 2007 and so I am back in a walking boot for a while to hope this  calms down..

I JUST CANNOT DO ANOTHER SURGERY.

Balance is off already and now add in the walking boot....  I"m really good at doing the the Frankenstein walk..  only with out my arms   without stretched out like Frankenstein,  now its a  so very slow and steady  gait ,     thunk  - thunk   ,    thats the sound of my walking so I don't fall  AGAIN..

IT gives me a good excuse to sit and watch all the NFL  I can. GO BEARS...

take care.

oh boy is this post perfect timing!

I often slam my right heel down when I walk and for weeks i'd been thinking i'd possibly picked up a little something in my heel, because braking glass and other breakables is turning into something i'm rather good at. lol Only trouble with it being a foreign object idea is that it doesn't look or act like one.

Its a solid lump exactly where a heel spur would occur and my lump looks and feels like a calcified lump and not like what it should look and feel like if it was an infection. It hurts like the dickens without shoes on but doesn't hurt as much walking, when i do have something cushioning under foot. Its a constant stabbing or needle stick type pain and worse at the end of the day when i'm trying to rest or sleep, it also burns in only the lump and its not changed at all.

On top of this, I also first experienced this exact same thing years and years ago but it totally went away. I was told way back then that it was a heel spur and i'd completely forgotten about it until i read your post and it prompted the memory. So thanks for telling your horrible heel spur story, your pain is my gain err that doesn't sound good but hopefully you'll get why i said it!

Hugs.........JJ

Sorry John. I have big old heel spur but I won't let them touch it. I get tendonitis so I do exercises the PT gave me. I use crutches if I stand because that is when it gives me fits. I also take a light weight folding chair with me so I can sit. When I took photographs for the bike MS I did it from my chair. This week end I took the cats to a shot clinic and took my chair it was an hour and a half wait.

No you do not need any more surgery if you can help it.
