I've just done a timeline for a neuro appt. this past week, so here's what I did. And I know Rena posted one too, so ask her what her technique was?
Each time I thought of something, I'd put it on a post-it note, or scrap of paper. After a few days I had quite the stack. Then I'd enter it into my word document and cut & paste it into order. Even while doing this typing part of what I thought was my final document, other things kept being put on post-it notes! That's okay, just keep adding, cutting, pasting, editing.
Don't try starting at step one, day one, page one, it doesn't work that way. Just let the thoughts fly at first, the order will come later.
Let it sit for a few days, then go back and look at it with fresh eyes. Trim some more.
I had a long one and the folks here suggested I keep it to one page. I did do that.
As it is, the two neuro appts. I have had, one neuro didn't look at it at all. The second appt., the PA took it, referred to it, but still had me tell her my symptoms in my own words. So it was used as a reference, think of it as a cheat sheet with bullet points.
Hope that helps?
