Yes this is another strange one from me. :)

Yesterday when I was going to town for dinner something really weird happened in regards to my vision. I was following a pickup truck most of the way but was keeping a close eye on him since he was going over the center line of the road quite a bit. I figure the guy was probably texting while driving from what I could see of him through his rear window. I was keeping back a little bit more than needed due to this just in case he had an accident.

But here comes the weird part. At one point as I was watching him drive his truck jumped sideways by about a foot or so. No he had not gone over a bump or anything like that. It was like someone had put my vision on pause for a second and then resumed it again in real time so that I didn't see his truck move over that far. Needless to say this has me kind of freaked out.

I do know that it wasn't a quick jerk of the wheel by the other driver and also not an illusion. it is hard to explain in text what happened. Try to think of a movie where you are filming a truck going along the road. Then you edit out a seconds worth of the movie so that the truck is instantly in another position. That is what it was like. My brother has also had this happen to him once though with worse results as the stopping of vision information lasted for a longer period. In his case he ended up running into a tree. Luckily he was driving down the mountain he lives on on a very bumping dirt road so his speed was very slow and therefore no real damage to him or his car.

Dennis, the drive could have given the steering wheel a quick jerk to cause that illusion.  I wouldn't worry too much about this one unless it happens over and over.
