another AARRRRRGGGGHHH!!! moment

must vent....

I have been told for a  few weeks that a scheduler will be calling me soon to schedule me with my new neurologist at OHSU.

I had supposedly cleared the last hurdle two days ago; them checking with my insurance.

I called bright and early this morning, and was told my case was still in review.  I said, "Oh, excuse me, please, I was told several times over the last few weeks that I was accepted as a patient and someone would call me in a couple days; two days ago I was told to call tomorrow and be scheduled.  Can you tell me what is going on?"

Apparently, because my referral said "possible seizures" they had sent my case file to the epilepsy department, (although I had specifically asked for Dr. D), and after approval there, they decided that I really needed to seen by the head of general neurology, and transferred my case there, where it had to be reviewed by the Medical Director (Dr. D.).

I was told to expect a call for scheduling about the middle of next week, and at this point they were scheduling out in mid- or late July.  aarrggghhh.  I know others have had to wait longer, but it seemed like I was so close!

Well, I guess it's a good thing that I went ahead and scheduled that brain MRI for next week.  Hey, maybe if it shows changes, they can get me in sooner.

HA HA HA HA HA.  I'm sure!

Taking a deep breath now, thinking calm thoughts....

Thanks for letting me vent.

Heck, I'm not even really on the list yet!  When they finally call to schedule me, I will definitely ask to be put on the cancellation list.  Of course,  a new patient appointment takes more time and how may cancellations of those will there be?  Oh well, I can wait and see.

Thanks for all your supportive responses, makes it all a little easier to take.

KATHY,

60 DEGREES I'LL TRADE YOU ITS 90 HERE AND HUMID !!!! KICKS MY HINEY.

NOW FOR THE SCHEDULING DEPARTMENT,THAT HONKS ME OFF, YES, WE HAVE TO WAIT OUR TURN, BUT IN RETROSPECT , THEY SHOULDN'T BE EXPECTING PATIENTS TO BLOW, THEN BE SEEN.ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY TELL YOU TO CALL BACK AND CALL BACK AND SO FORTH.

GEEZE-UMS THATS WHY WE PAY SO MUCH FOR OUR DRS.

JUST POLITELY ASK TO BE PUT ON THEIR CANCELLATION LIST IF POSSIBLE.

VENT ALL YOU NEED TO SO YOU DON'T BLOW

Thanks.

My EEG showed no sign of seizures, so that must have been what kicked me back to neurology.  Good EEG!

I swear, sometimes it seems like they weed out patients by seeing how much people can take before they blow!  I'm kidding, I know it's all a huge business with tons of paperwork and procedures and it takes time for them to cross all the t's, dot all the i's, and all that good stuff.

I think I'll go soak up some sun while we have some!  :o)  It's only around 60 degrees.
